Contributed by ranchez
The trail begins as an old road that is also ATV (all terrain vehicle) accessible. Cross over a few small streams, look for the elephants head flowers before coming to a fork in the trail. Take the fork to the right, the Blue Ridge Trail. The trail will take you through meadows and then old growth spruce/fir forest before reaching the ridgeline. After about half a mile on the ridge there are spectacular views of Grand Lake, Shadow Mountain Reservoir and the Indian Peak Wilderness. Continue on the ridge past the trail down to Bowen Lake. The distance to Cascade Mountain from Bowen Lake is about 5.5 miles.
From Granby take U.S. Highway 34 to County Road 4. Take County Road 4 for three miles. Take the fork to the right (Forest Service Road, FSR 120 or Kawuneeche Road) towards the Never Summer Wilderness to the North Supply Trailhead.
