Sunrise Trail

Contributed by ranchez

Managed by the City of Scottsdale, Arizona, this scenic urban desert trail is part of the McDowell Sonoran Preserve.  It is a moderately strenuous hike to the summit with expansive 360-degree views.

There is also a great view of Scottsdale from a saddle at about 1.2 miles from the trailhead.

The 2-mile length and proximity to the city, makes it a great workout before or after work.

Past the summit you can continue on to connect with the Lost Dog trail.

Parking for the trailhead opens at sunrise and closes at sunset.

An automatic gate will let you out of the parking lot if you are late getting back to your car.
